The Active Restart Infrastructure Recovery Fund will provide $15.5million in targeted funding to not-for-profit sport and recreation organisations to support their return to play and encourage the Queensland community to re-engage with physical activity post-COVID-19. There are two categories:
- Category 1 – up to $5000 (GST exclusive)
- Category 2 – $5001 up to $20 000 (GST exclusive)
Key Dates
- 16 July 2020 – Applications opened
- 7 August 2020 – Applications close
- By 30 September – Successful projects approved and can commence
- 31 March 2021 – Projects must be completed
Who can apply
Organisations eligible to apply must be incorporated not-for-profit local or regional sport or active recreation organisations (refer to Appendix 1 for definitions) that deliver or coordinate activity/ies and be:
- incorporated under the:
- Associations Incorporation Act 1981 (Qld)
- Corporations Act 2001 (Cwlth)
- Cooperatives Act 1997 (Qld)
- Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006 (Cwlth); or
- sport or recreation clubs incorporated within a Queensland university; and
- be registered with an Australian Business Number (ABN); and
- must not have a gaming machine licence.

What you can receive funding for
Equipment to:
- deliver activities/programs
- assist in facility maintenance
- deliver events and fundraising opportunities
- reduce organisational cost.
Minor upgrades, repair and maintenance works:
- repair or maintain infrastructure
- create better quality spaces
- provide safe and secure environments.
- improve accessibility and use of the infrastructure
- provide safe and secure environments.
