Stage 1 - Get on track - The Barriers

Before you start the race, you need to ask yourself: "Why are you in business and what is your end goal?"

This must be done before what many analysts refer to as a 'health check' or business performance analysis. You need to analyse where you are. It's always good to get a performance scorecard or status report.

Before you can enter the race, you need to be checked out by a vet; i.e. a business advisor, and assessed. And you need to be approved by the stewards so you can start the journey.

The barrier test produces a business health check of where you're at, against where you should be.

What are your organisation's vision and values? These are the backbone of the company.

Just like in business, you need to ensure you are adequately prepared and operating at peak performance to enter the race against your competitors.

The key areas in Stage 1 of "Get on Track" Strategic Framework are the "The Barriers" of the race as you enter and then exit the barriers:
  1. Where are you at?
  2. Identify your risks?
  3. SWOT analysis
  4. Undertake a financial review
  5. What is the business selling and why?
  6. Where do you want to be?

Get your business out of the barriers and get on track today
